Latvia’s capital city,Riga is a destination for those seeking beautiful architecture to look at (or take pictures) and those interested in exploring nice neighbourhoods like the one in old town,that is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.The city is the largest in the Baltic States and is bisected by river Daugava.When walking around the city,it reminds you of a fairytale with all the amazing buildings and nice streets.
Now,let’s go to the practical side of things.Riga is a big city,but what you need to see on a 2day trip is mostly situated in one part of the city,the old town.That said,if you choose a hotel in the old city like we did,you have enough time to explore your surroundings and then explore other neighbourhoods as well.
You explore the old town on foot since buses pass by only outside of it.So make sure you are well equipped with trainers since the roads can be a little tricky so what you need most is a stable pair of shoes.
Η πρωτεύουσα της Λετονίας,η Ρίγα,είναι ένα προορισμός για εκείνους που ψάχνουν την ωραία αρχιτεκτονική για να δουν(ή να βγάλουν φωτογραφίες) και γι’αυτούς που ενδιαφέρονται για εξερεύνηση ωραίων γειτονιών, όπως αυτή της παλιάς πόλης,η οποία είναι αναγνωρισμένη από την Ουνέσκο σαν μνημείο παγκόσμιας κληρονομιάς. Η πόλη είναι η μεγαλύτερη στη Βαλτική και διχοτομείται από τον ποταμό Νταουγκάβα.Όταν περπατάς στην πόλη, νιώθεις σαν σε παραμύθι,αφού τα υπέροχα κτίρια και τα μικρά δρομάκια φροντίζουν να σου μεταφέρουν το κλίμα.
